FAQs

It stresses the seriousness of Viṣṇu-vāsara observances: breaking a sacred fast/day is treated as a moral lapse, and the narrative frames strict restraint (nigraha) as a form of protecting dharma.

Bhakti is shown as practical fidelity—honoring Viṣṇu’s day through discipline. The verse implies that devotion is not only emotion but also vow-keeping and reverence for sacred time.

Kalpa (ritual discipline) is implied: correct observance of vrata-days (when to fast/avoid eating) and the ethical enforcement of religious rules within a household or community.
