Description of the Pilgrimage to the Sacred Tīrthas
Kurukṣetra-yātrā-krama
Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It declares the Kauśikī confluence as a pāpa-nāśana tīrtha: devotional bathing there purifies sin and yields a cherished, auspicious attainment described as ‘priya-saṅgama’ (reunion with what is dear).
The fruit is linked not merely to the act of bathing, but to snāna performed with bhakti—showing that inner devotion is the decisive power that activates tīrtha merit.
It reflects Kalpa/ritual practice within tīrtha-yātrā: the prescribed act of snāna at a saṅgama as a purificatory rite, emphasizing correct observance and devotional intent.
