The Greatness of Puruṣottama Kṣetra
Narada (narrating within the Uttara-Bhaga tīrtha-mahātmya context)
Vrata: none
Rasa: {"primary_rasa":"adbhuta","secondary_rasa":"shanta","emotional_journey":"Wonder at the vision of all sin-destroying tīrthas, settling into quiet mastery as they are ‘gathered’ mentally."}
It highlights tīrtha-darśana and tīrtha-smarana as purifying practices: the mind can “recollect and gather” the merit of sin-destroying holy places through focused remembrance and inner pilgrimage.
By emphasizing inner movement “by the mind,” it supports bhakti as an inward, continuous orientation—devotion that carries sacred presence through remembrance, not only through physical travel.
It most directly aligns with Smṛti/ācāra (practical dharma): the disciplined use of manas (mind) for tīrtha-smarana as a valid religious observance, even when physical pilgrimage is not possible.
