Adhyaya 41 — Yogic Conduct and the Discipline Leading to Siddhi
अत ऊर्ध्वं पश्चापि अदुष्टापतितेषु च । भैक्ष्यचर्या विवर्णेषु जघन्या वृत्तिरिष्यते ॥
ata ūrdhvaṃ paścāpi aduṣṭāpatiteṣu ca | bhaikṣyacaryā vivarṇeṣu jaghanyā vṛttir iṣyate ||
Au-delà de cela (dans un ordre inférieur), même parmi ceux qui ne sont pas mauvais mais sont déchus de la conduite juste, et parmi ceux qui sont hors de l’ordre des varṇa (vivarṇa), la pratique de vivre d’aumônes est tenue pour le mode de subsistance le plus bas.
