प्रत्याह्रियन्ते योगेन प्रत्याहारस्ततः स्मृतः ।
उपायश्चात्र कथितो योगिभिः परमर्षिभिः ॥
pratyāhriyante yogena pratyāhāras tataḥ smṛtaḥ / upāyaś cātra kathito yogibhiḥ paramarṣibhiḥ //

The verse emphasizes that withdrawal is an active yogic operation—reclaiming attention from sense-objects—and that the tradition provides concrete methods transmitted by accomplished sages.
Didactic yoga methodology; it is supportive teaching rather than a cosmological or genealogical marker.
Pratyāhāra marks the turning-point where awareness stops being ‘exported’ through the senses; this inward reversal is the gateway to dhāraṇā and dhyāna.
