सरस्वतीं समासाद्य तर्पयेत् पितृदेवता: । सारस्वतेषु लोकेषु मोदते नात्र संशय:
Sarasvatīṃ samāsādya tarpayet pitṛdevatāḥ | Sārasvateṣu lokeṣu modate nātra saṃśayaḥ ||
Parvenu à la Sarasvatī sacrée, qu’on offre le tarpana—les libations d’eau—aux dieux et aux ancêtres. Par cet acte, le pèlerin obtient la joie dans les mondes célestes liés à Sarasvatī ; il n’y a là aucun doute.
घुलस्त्य उवाच
Pilgrimage is ethically completed through gratitude and duty: by performing tarpana for gods and ancestors at Sarasvatī, one fulfills dharmic obligations and gains auspicious spiritual results, described as joy in Sarasvatī-associated realms.
