क्रोशमात्रमुपागम्य तस्माद्‌ देशान्निमित्तत: । श्वोभूते मनुजव्याप्राश्छन्नवासार्थमुद्यता:

Transliteration

krośamātram upāgamya tasmād deśān nimittataḥ | śvobhūte manujavyāprāś channavāsārtham udyatāḥ,

Translation

Pour quelque raison particulière, ils s’éloignèrent de ce lieu d’environ un krośa et s’y arrêtèrent. Ayant le lendemain en vue, ils se préparèrent à commencer leur séjour incognito et, pour délibérer de leur conduite, s’assirent ensemble à proximité — hommes de discernement, habiles au conseil, et connaissant les moments propices à l’alliance comme à l’affrontement.
