Vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca: tataḥ te yakṣavacanād udatīṣṭhanta pāṇḍavāḥ | kṣutpipāse ca sarveṣāṃ kṣaṇena vyapagacchatām ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana dit : Alors, aux paroles du Yakṣa, tous les Pāṇḍava se relevèrent. En un seul instant, la faim et la soif de chacun d’eux s’évanouirent.
वैशमग्पायन उवाच
Dharma is not merely debated but demonstrated: when one responds rightly to a moral test (here, the Yakṣa’s examination), life-sustaining order is restored—symbolized by the brothers rising and their hunger and thirst disappearing.
After the Yakṣa speaks, the Pāṇḍavas—who had been struck down in the episode—rise up, and their physical distress (hunger and thirst) is immediately removed, marking the Yakṣa’s power and the turning point of the ordeal.
