पास्यामि तावत् पानीयमिति पार्थो वृकोदर: । ततो<भ्यधावत् पानीयं पिपासु: पुरुषर्षभ:
pāsyāmi tāvat pānīyam iti pārtho vṛkodaraḥ | tato 'bhyadhāvat pānīyaṃ pipāsuḥ puruṣarṣabhaḥ ||
«Je vais d’abord chercher de l’eau», dit Pārtha (Arjuna) à Vṛkodara (Bhīma). Alors ce taureau parmi les hommes, tourmenté par la soif, se hâta vers l’eau — déclenchant l’épreuve morale qui, bientôt, exigera retenue, révérence et obéissance au juste avertissement plutôt qu’à l’élan du besoin.
