Adhyāya 168: Arjuna’s counters to māyā-rains and the onset of darkness

तस्य तच्छतथा रूपमभवच्च सहस्रधा । तानि चास्य शरीराणि शरैरहमताडयम्,उस समय उसके सैकड़ों और सहस्रों रूप प्रकट हुए और मैंने उसके सभी शरीरोंपर बाणोंसे गहरी चोट पहुँचायी
tasya tacchathā rūpam abhavac ca sahasradhā | tāni cāsya śarīrāṇi śarair aham atāḍayam |
Arjuna dit : «Alors sa forme se manifesta en des centaines et des milliers d’apparences ; et je frappai de mes flèches tous ces corps qui étaient les siens, les blessant profondément.»
अजुन उवाच
Steadfastness in dharma: even when an opponent’s power appears as bewildering multiplicity, one should act with disciplined courage and clarity, performing one’s duty without being shaken by appearances.
Arjuna describes a combat moment where the adversary manifests many bodies/forms at once; Arjuna responds by shooting arrows at all of them, successfully striking and injuring those manifested bodies.
