Bhīṣma’s Account of the Strategic Engagement with Rāma Jāmadagnya
एनसा न तु संयोगं प्राप्स्यसे जातु मानद । स्वप्स्यते जामदग्न्यो5सौ त्वद्वाणबलपीडित:
enasā na tu saṃyogaṃ prāpsyase jātu mānada | svapsyate jāmadagnyo 'sau tvad-vāṇa-bala-pīḍitaḥ ||
Bhīṣma dit : «Ô dispensateur d’honneur, jamais tu ne contracteras de faute par cette rencontre. Accablé et meurtri par la force de tes flèches, ce fils de Jamadagni (Paraśurāma) se taira et s’étendra pour dormir.»

Bhishma reassures that righteous combat undertaken within dharma does not automatically produce moral taint; when one acts without wrongful intent and within proper bounds, one need not fear ‘enas’ (sin) from the mere fact of conflict.
