अभिषातप्रभावाच्च पावक: समजायत | उस समय वायुके कम्पन और सूर्यकी किरणोंसे समस्त बाण परस्पर टकराने लगे। उनकी रगड़से वहाँ आग प्रकट हो गयी

abhiṣātaprabhāvāc ca pāvakaḥ samajāyata |

Bhīṣma dit : «Et sous la violence des heurts et du frottement, le feu s’éleva.» Alors, sous le frémissement du vent et les rayons du soleil, toutes les flèches se heurtèrent les unes aux autres ; de leur friction, un brasier apparut en ce lieu.
