Bhishma’s Account of Parashurama’s Challenge and the March to Kurukshetra
ततो हाहाकृतं सर्व रामे भूतलमश्रिते । जगदू भारत संविग्नं यथार्कपतने भवेत्,परशुरामके पृथ्वीपर गिरते ही मानो आकाशसे सूर्य टूटकर गिरे हों, ऐसा समझकर सारा जगत् भयभीत हो हाहाकार करने लगा
tato hāhākṛtaṃ sarvaṃ rāme bhūtalamaśrite | jagadū bharata saṃvignaṃ yathārkapatane bhavet ||
Bhīṣma dit : «Alors un cri d’effroi s’éleva de partout lorsque Rāma (Paraśurāma) s’abattit sur la terre. Ô Bhārata, le monde entier fut saisi de tremblement, comme si le soleil venait à tomber du ciel.»
