Bhishma’s Account of Parashurama’s Challenge and the March to Kurukshetra
As a colophon, the line itself teaches by framing the episode: it marks the completion of a unit centered on dharma under strain—how vows, duty, and personal honor can lead even righteous figures into violent conflict, and how narrative closure invites reflection on the ethical weight of such choices.
This is the concluding colophon for the chapter describing the Rāma–Bhīṣma battle within the Ambā-upākhyāna portion of the Udyoga Parva, indicating that the chapter (counted as the 180th) has ended.
