Amba–Rama–Bhishma Dialogue on Vow and Refuge
ततो मामब्रवीद् देवी सर्वभूतहितैषिणी । माता स्वरूपिणी राजन् किमिदं ते चिकीर्षितम्,राजन! उस समय समस्त प्राणियोंका हित चाहनेवाली मेरी माता गंगादेवी स्वरूपत: प्रकट होकर बोलीं--'बेटा! यह तू क्या करना चाहता है?
tato mām abravīd devī sarvabhūtahitaiṣiṇī | mātā svarūpiṇī rājan kim idaṁ te cikīrṣitam ||
Alors la déesse—ma mère Gaṅgā, toujours soucieuse du bien de tous les êtres—apparut dans sa forme véritable et me dit : « Ô Roi, mon fils, qu’as-tu l’intention de faire ? »
