ततस्ते पार्थिवा: सर्वे तच्छुत्वा राजशासनम्
tatas te pārthivāḥ sarve tac chrutvā rājaśāsanam | kāñcanāḍḍadadīptāṃś ca candanāgurubhūṣitān ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : Alors tous ces rois, ayant entendu l’ordre du roi Duryodhana, se levèrent de leurs sièges précieux dans un sursaut de colère. Leurs bras—épais comme des massues de fer, enduits de pâte de santal et d’aloès, et luisants de bracelets d’or—bougèrent lentement tandis qu’ils les touchaient et les fléchissaient, signe d’une résolution prête à s’exécuter sous l’ordre royal et sous la pression montante de la guerre.
