परिहृत्य श्मशानानि देवतायतनानि च । आश्रमांश्व महर्षीणां तीर्थान्यायतनानि च

Transliteration

parihṛtya śmaśānāni devatāyatanāni ca | āśramāṁś ca maharṣīṇāṁ tīrthāny āyatanāni ca ||

Translation

Vaiśampāyana dit : Évitant les lieux de crémation, les temples des dieux, les ermitages des grands ṛṣi, ainsi que les gués sacrés (tīrtha) et les enceintes saintes, Yudhiṣṭhira, le sage fils de Kuntī, mena ses troupes bien au loin et établit le camp en un endroit agréable, net et pur, afin que la présence de l’armée ne trouble pas les sites consacrés ni ne porte atteinte au respect qui leur est dû.
