अद्भुतानि च घोराणि दारुणानि च भारत | अमानुषाणि कर्माणि दर्शितानि मया विभो
adbhutāni ca ghorāṇi dāruṇāni ca bhārata | amānuṣāṇi karmāṇi darśitāni mayā vibho ||
Vāyu dit : «Ô Bhārata, je t’ai montré des actes et des présages—merveilleux et pourtant terrifiants, âpres et funestes—des œuvres au-delà de la sphère humaine, afin que tu saisisses la gravité de ce qui se déploie.»
वायुदेव उवाच
Extraordinary and frightening signs are not mere spectacle; they are revelations meant to awaken moral seriousness. The verse frames events as carrying ethical weight (karma) and urges the listener to recognize the impending consequences and act with discernment in alignment with dharma.
Vāyu addresses a ‘Bhārata’ and states that he has shown astonishing and dreadful, superhuman deeds or portents. The line functions as a narrative marker: a divine being confirms that what has been witnessed is intentionally revealed to communicate the severity of the situation.
