Sāma–Bheda–Daṇḍa
दुर्योधन निबोधेदं यत् त्वां वक्ष्यामि पुत्रक । तथा तत् कुरु भद्रें ते यद्यस्ति पितृगौरवम्,“बेटा दुर्योधन! मेरी यह बात सुन। तेरा कल्याण हो। यदि तेरे मनमें पिताके लिये कुछ भी गौरव है तो तुझसे जो कुछ कहूँ, उसका पालन कर
duryodhana nibodhedaṁ yat tvāṁ vakṣyāmi putraka | tathā tat kuru bhadraṁ te yady asti pitṛgauravam ||
Vāyu dit : «Duryodhana, comprends ceci — écoute ce que je vais te dire, mon fils. Puisses-tu y trouver ton bien. Si tu as ne serait-ce qu’une trace de respect pour ton père, alors fais exactement ce que je t’ordonne.»
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse frames ethical persuasion through filial duty: if Duryodhana truly honors his father, he should heed corrective counsel and act for welfare rather than stubborn self-will.
Vāyudeva directly addresses Duryodhana, urging him to listen carefully and to follow the forthcoming instruction, appealing to his respect for his father as a moral lever.
