Udyoga Parva Adhyāya 132 — Vidura’s Counsel on Udyama, Yaśas, and Kṣātra-Dharma
One should pursue a livelihood and conduct consistent with dharma—avoiding ways of living associated with entrapment, deceit, or transgressive extremes—especially when one’s role demands integrity and restraint.
Vāyu admonishes the addressed person, warning them not to adopt disreputable or unsuitable modes of living—specifically likened to a net-maker’s and a Kāpālika’s livelihood—thereby steering them toward a more fitting, righteous path.
