ययातिदौहित्रपुण्यसमुच्चयः | Yayāti and the Grandsons’ Consolidation of Merit
तमाहु: पार्थिवा: सर्वे दीप्यमानमिव श्रिया । को भवान् कस्य वा बन्धुर्देशस्य नगरस्य वा
tam āhuḥ pārthivāḥ sarve dīpyamānam iva śriyā | ko bhavān kasya vā bandhur deśasya nagarasya vā ||
Nārada dit : Alors tous les rois, le voyant comme s’il flamboyait de splendeur, l’interpellèrent : « Qui es-tu ? De qui es-tu le parent ? De quelle contrée et de quelle cité viens-tu ? Es-tu un Yakṣa ou un dieu, un Gandharva ou un Rākṣasa ? Ton apparence n’est pas celle des hommes ordinaires. Dis-nous : quel dessein cherches-tu à accomplir ? »
