Svargārohaṇa-parva Adhyāya 5 — Karmaphala-Nirdeśa and Phalāśruti (कर्मफलनिर्देशः फलश्रुतिश्च)
Devotional listening to the Mahābhārata (as ‘Jaya’) is presented as a meritorious practice whose fruit is a harmonious triad: prosperity (śrī), reputation (kīrti), and learning (vidyā).
In the closing context of the epic, Vaiśaṃpāyana delivers a phalaśruti-style statement, praising the benefit of regularly hearing the Bhārata and affirming the auspicious results for the listener.
