अर्जुन उवाच अहो दुःखमहो कृच्छुमहो वैक्लव्यमुत्तमम्‌ । यत्‌ कृत्वामानुषं कर्म त्यजेथा: श्रियमुत्तमाम्‌

Transliteration

arjuna uvāca: aho duḥkham aho kṛcchram aho vaiklavyam uttamam | yat kṛtvā mānuṣaṁ karma tyajethāḥ śriyam uttamām ||

Translation

Arjuna dit : «Hélas, ô roi ! Quelle douleur, quelle épreuve ! Votre égarement a atteint l’extrême. Il est stupéfiant qu’après avoir accompli des actes à la mesure de l’homme, vous renonciez à cette prospérité suprême—à cette fortune royale conquise par une vaillance extraordinaire.»
