Chapter 72 — Royal Duty: protection of subjects, taxation, punishment, and appointments
धनानि तेभ्यो दद्यास्त्वं यथाशक्ति यथा्हत: । सान्त्वयन् परिरक्षंश्न स्वर्गमाप्स्यसि दुर्जयम्,राजन! तुम ब्राह्मणोंको सान्त्वना देते और उनकी रक्षा करते हुए उन्हें यथाशक्ति यथायोग्य धन देते रहना, इससे तुम्हें दुर्जय स्वर्गलोककी प्राप्ति होगी
dhanāni tebhyo dadyāstvaṃ yathāśakti yathārhataḥ | sāntvayan parirakṣaṃś ca svargam āpsyasi durjayam, rājan |
Bhishma dit : « Ô roi, continue de leur donner des richesses selon tes moyens et selon ce qui convient. En les réconfortant et en les protégeant, tu atteindras le royaume du ciel, si difficile à gagner. »
