Śara-śayyā-sthita-bhīṣma-saṃvāda-prastāvaḥ
The Prelude to Questioning Bhīṣma on the Bed of Arrows
आधेयं तु मया भूयो यशस्तव महाद्ुते । ततो मे विपुला बुद्धिस्त्वयि भीष्म समर्पिता,महातेजस्वी भीष्म! मुझे इस जगत्में आपके महान् यशकी प्रतिष्ठा करनी है, अतः मैंने अपनी विशाल बुद्धि आपको समर्पित की है
ādheyaṁ tu mayā bhūyo yaśas tava mahādyute | tato me vipulā buddhis tvayi bhīṣma samarpitā ||
Ô Bhīṣma au grand éclat, je dois encore établir et affermir ta haute renommée en ce monde. C’est pourquoi je t’ai confié l’ampleur de mon intelligence.
