वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even after conflict, dharma is upheld through respectful conduct: seeking permission to depart, honoring elders and teachers (here Bhīṣma), and performing pradakṣiṇā as a sign of reverence. The verse highlights that ethical order is maintained by courtesy and humility, not merely by victory.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Kṛṣṇa and the Pāṇḍavas take leave of Bhīṣma (Gāṅgeya), circumambulate him respectfully, and then climb onto their chariots to depart.
