यं सुरासुरगन्धर्वा: सिद्धा ऋषिमहोरगा: । प्रयता नित्यमर्चन्ति परमं दुः:खभेषजम्‌

yaṁ surāsura-gandharvāḥ siddhā ṛṣi-mahoragāḥ | prayatā nityam arcanti paramaṁ duḥkha-bheṣajam ||

Bhīṣma dit : «Je prends refuge en le Seigneur suprême—Hari Nārāyaṇa—que les dieux et les asura, les gandharva, les siddha, les sages et les grands serpents, l’esprit et la conduite maîtrisés, adorent sans cesse ; Lui qui est le remède le plus élevé contre la maladie de la douleur. Bien qu’Un, il apparaît sous de multiples formes ; transcendant les sens, on le nomme Adhokṣaja. Il accomplit les desseins des dévots, il est le trésor du monde où demeurent tous les êtres, la vérité ultime au-delà de l’être et du non-être, sans commencement, sans milieu ni fin ; ni dieux ni ṛṣi ne le connaissent pleinement, et ni l’œil charnel ni l’intellect ne peuvent l’embrasser tout entier.»

The verse teaches śaraṇāgati—taking refuge in the Supreme (Hari Nārāyaṇa) as the ultimate cure for duḥkha.
