Bhishma dit : Ayant acquis une assise ferme dans les Veda et s’étant rendus accomplis jusque dans les disciplines auxiliaires, ces disciples ascètes s’approchèrent alors de Vyasa. L’esprit apaisé et les sens maîtrisés, ils se rassemblèrent autour de leur maître et, les mains jointes, s’adressèrent à lui—en quête d’une direction fondée sur le savoir sacré et la conduite disciplinée.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical posture of true learning: mastery of scripture and its auxiliaries should culminate in self-control, calmness, and reverent inquiry. Knowledge is presented as inseparable from discipline and humility before the teacher.
Bhishma narrates that Vyasa's ascetic, well-trained disciples—firmly grounded in Vedic study and Vedangas—assemble around their guru and respectfully address him with folded hands, preparing to ask questions or receive instruction.
