Yajña-bhāga-vyavasthā and the Pravṛtti–Nivṛtti Framework (यज्ञभागव्यवस्था तथा प्रवृत्तिनिवृत्तिधर्मविवेचनम्)

आरणेयो विशुद्धात्मा नभसीव दिवाकर: । अथ व्यास: परिक्षिप्तं ज्वलन्तमिव पावकम्‌

āraṇeyo viśuddhātmā nabhasīva divākaraḥ | atha vyāsaḥ parikṣiptaṃ jvalantamiva pāvakam ||

Bhīṣma dit : « Āraṇeya, l’âme purifiée, brillait tel le soleil dans le ciel. Puis Vyāsa apparut, semblable à un feu attisé qui flamboie. » Ce vers rehausse l’atmosphère morale du récit en peignant les sages comme des incarnations de pureté intérieure et de puissance spirituelle ; leur seule présence commande le respect et annonce la gravité de l’enseignement à venir.
