Chapter 29

रथे रथे शतं चाश्वा देशजा हेममालिन: । अश्वे अश्वे शतं गावो गवां तद्घदजाविकम्‌

rathe rathe śataṃ cāśvā deśajā hemamālinaḥ | aśve aśve śataṃ gāvo gavāṃ tad ghadajāvikam ||

Vāyu dit : «À chaque char étaient attelés cent chevaux du pays, parés de guirlandes d’or. À chaque cheval s’ajoutaient cent vaches, et derrière chaque vache suivaient encore cent moutons et chèvres.» Ce passage souligne l’ampleur prodigieuse des présents et des richesses distribués, mettant en lumière l’éthique du dāna (la générosité) et l’idéal social de soutenir les dépendants par l’abondance.
