Viṣṇor Māhātmya and Indriya-saṃyama (विष्णोर्माहात्म्यं तथा इन्द्रियसंयमः)
सा तु शापपरित्रस्ता तत्स्वभावानुवर्तिनी । मायूरजीर्णपर्णानां वस्त्र तस्याश्व वर्णितम्,ब्राह्यणी शापसे डरकर पतिके स्वभावका सर्वथा अनुसरण करती थी। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि वह मोरोंकी टूटकर गिरी पुरानी पाँखोंको जोड़कर उनसे ही अपना शरीर ढँकती थी
sā tu śāpaparitrastā tatsvabhāvānuvartinī | māyūra-jīrṇa-parṇānāṃ vastraṃ tasyāś ca varṇitam ||
Nārada dit : Terrifiée par la malédiction, elle continua d’agir entièrement selon la nature et la disposition de son époux. On décrit que son vêtement était fait de vieilles plumes de paon tombées, assemblées pour couvrir son corps.
