नारद–असित (देवल) संवादः — भूतप्रभवाप्यय, इन्द्रिय-गुण-विवेक, क्षेत्रज्ञ-तत्त्व
तस्माद् ब्रह्मन् यजेच्चैव याजयेच्चाविचारयन् । यजतः: स्वर्गविधिना प्रेत्य स्वर्गफलं महत्
tasmād brahman yajec caiva yājayec cāvicārayan | yajataḥ svargavidhinā pretya svargaphalaṁ mahat ||
Ainsi donc, ô brahmane, il faut accomplir soi-même les sacrifices et aussi officier pour autrui, sans hésiter dans la délibération. Car celui qui sacrifie selon les rites qui mènent au ciel, après la mort obtient une grande récompense au ciel.
कपिल उवाच
Kapila teaches that a brahmin should uphold the sacrificial tradition—performing yajñas and serving as officiant for others—steadfastly and according to proper rite, because such action yields great heavenly merit after death.
In Kapila’s discourse in the Śānti Parva, he addresses a brahmin and argues for the efficacy and duty of Vedic sacrifice, stating that correct ritual performance leads to svarga as its posthumous fruit.
