Ātma-saṃyama-dharma: One-pointedness of Mind and Senses (शुक–व्यास संवादः)
अभिवाद्य गुरु ब्रूयादधीष्व भगवन्निति । इदं करिष्ये भगवन्निदं चापि कृतं मया
abhivādya guruṁ brūyād adhīṣva bhagavann iti | idaṁ kariṣye bhagavann idaṁ cāpi kṛtaṁ mayā ||
Après avoir salué le maître avec respect, l’élève doit dire, les mains jointes : « Vénérable seigneur, instruisez-moi. » Il doit aussi rendre compte avec honnêteté et discipline : « Cette tâche, je vais l’entreprendre maintenant, et cette autre a déjà été accomplie par moi. » Le verset place l’étude sous le signe de la révérence, de la responsabilité et de la disponibilité au devoir.
