Adhyāya 222 — ब्रह्मस्थानप्राप्ति: मोक्षधर्मे समत्वव्रतम्
Attaining the Brahman-Station: The Vow of Equanimity in Mokṣadharma
स्वभावभाविनो भावान् सव्वनिवेह निश्चयात् | बुद्धयमानस्य दर्पो वा मानो वा कि करिष्यति
svabhāvabhāvino bhāvān sarvaniveha niścayāt | buddhyamānasya darpo vā māno vā kiṁ kariṣyati ||
Tous les états et dispositions naissent de la nature propre. Quand on le sait avec une certitude inébranlable, quel mal l’orgueil ou la suffisance pourraient-ils faire ?
प्रह्माद उवाच
When one clearly understands that all qualities and mental states arise according to inherent nature (svabhāva), the grounds for egoistic pride and conceit collapse; thus arrogance cannot disturb such a person’s conduct or judgment.
