Śarīrin, Buddhi, and the Limits of Sense-Perception (इन्द्रियबुद्धिशरीरिविचारः)
अनिर्वेदो गतक्लेशो गततन्द्रिरमत्सरी । समाददध्यात् पुनश्चेतो ध्यानेन ध्यानयोगवित्
anirvedo gatakleśo gatatandrir amatsarī | samādadadhyāt punaś ceto dhyānena dhyānayogavit ||
Bhishma dit : Lorsque l’esprit se disperse, celui qui connaît la discipline de la méditation ne doit ni sombrer dans l’abattement ni se laisser accabler. Rejetant la torpeur et l’envie, qu’il rassemble de nouveau l’esprit et le stabilise par la méditation.
भीष्म उवाच
A meditator should respond to distraction without discouragement: abandon lethargy and envy, and deliberately re-collect the mind through meditation.
In the Shanti Parva’s instruction on dharma and inner discipline, Bhishma advises the listener on practical conduct for meditation—how to regain concentration when the mind wanders.
