Jāpakānāṃ Gatiḥ — The Destinies of Japa-Practitioners (Śānti Parva 12.190)

सर्वोपायैस्तु लोभस्य क्रोधस्य च विनिग्रह: । एतत्‌ पवित्र ज्ञानानां तथा चैवात्मसंयम:

sarvopāyais tu lobhasya krodhasya ca vinigrahaḥ | etat pavitraṃ jñānānāṃ tathā caivātmasaṃyamaḥ ||

Bharadvāja dit : Par tous les moyens possibles, il faut contenir l’avidité et la colère. Telle est la discipline purificatrice pour ceux qui recherchent la vraie connaissance, et c’est là, en vérité, la maîtrise de soi.
