Bhīṣma dit : «Les uns s’enfoncèrent dans la terre, et d’autres, de même, s’enfoncèrent dans les montagnes.»
भीष्म उवाच
The verse underscores the diversity of outcomes that beings experience—symbolically ‘entering’ earth or mountains—pointing to the working of karma and the inevitability of dissolution according to one’s destined course within dharma.
Bhīṣma is recounting a description in which different beings vanish or meet their end in different ways—some into the earth, others into mountains—serving as an illustrative detail within a broader discourse on conduct, consequence, and the order governing life and death.
