लोकयात्रार्थमेवेह धर्मप्रवचनं कृतम्‌ । अहिंसासाधुहिंसेति श्रेयान्‌ धर्मपरिग्रह:

Transliteration

lokayātrārtham eveha dharmapravacanaṁ kṛtam | ahiṁsā sādhuhīṁseti śreyān dharmaparigrahaḥ ||

Translation

Arjuna dit : «Ici, l’enseignement du dharma a été exposé précisément pour soutenir le cours de la vie dans le monde. Quand surgit le dilemme — pratiquer la non‑violence en toute circonstance ou user de violence contre les méchants — le meilleur choix est d’adopter l’acte qui maintient et protège le dharma.»
