एवमुकक्त्वा विनिश्ित्य रौद्रकर्मा स लुब्धक: । महाप्रस्थानमाश्रित्य प्रययौ संशितव्रत:,ऐसा कहकर धर्माचरणका ही निश्चय करके वह भयानक कर्म करनेवाला व्याध कठोर व्रतका आश्रय ले महाप्रस्थानके पथपर चल दिया
evam uktvā viniścitya raudrakarmā sa lubdhakaḥ | mahāprasthānam āśritya prayayau saṃśitavrataḥ ||
Ayant parlé ainsi et s’étant résolu fermement à pratiquer le dharma, ce chasseur—bien que connu pour des actes farouches—embrassa un vœu austère et s’engagea sur la voie du Grand Départ, tournant sa vie vers le renoncement discipliné et la résolution morale.
