नासम्यक्‌ कृतकारी स्यादप्रमत्त: सदा भवेत्‌ | कण्टको<पि हि दुश्छिन्नो विकारं कुरुते चिरम्‌

Transliteration

nāsamyak kṛtakārī syād apramattaḥ sadā bhavet | kaṇṭako 'pi hi duśchinnaḥ vikāraṃ kurute ciram ||

Translation

Bhīṣma dit : Qu’on n’abandonne pas une tâche sans l’avoir menée à bien, et qu’on demeure vigilant en tout temps. Car même une épine, si on l’extrait mal en laissant un éclat dans la chair, engendre longtemps trouble et souffrance. L’enseignement appelle à la rigueur et à une attention constante : de petits restes de négligence peuvent devenir un mal durable.
