आपद्धर्मे कोशबलन्यायः | Treasury, Force, and Crisis-Ethics for the King
इह द्रक्ष्यामि त॑ पुत्र द्रक्ष्यामीहेति पार्थिव: । एवमाशाहतो राजा चरन् वनमिदं पुरा
iha drakṣyāmi taṁ putra drakṣyāmīheti pārthivaḥ | evam āśāhato rājā caran vanam idaṁ purā ||
Bhīṣma dit : « Ici je verrai ce fils — ici, oui, je le verrai. » Ainsi, étroitement lié par l’espérance, le roi, seigneur de la terre, erra jadis dans cette forêt, poussé par le désir de retrouver ce qui avait été perdu.
भीष्म उवाच
Hope can be a sustaining force that drives one to continue difficult effort, but it can also bind the mind to expectation; the ethical lesson is to act with perseverance while seeking clarity rather than being consumed by mere anticipation.
A king, yearning to see his son again, repeatedly tells himself that he will surely find him ‘here’ and, propelled by that hope, roams through the forest searching.
