शकुनि (हिरण्मय-पक्षी) उपदेशः — Vighasāśin and the Difficulty of Gārhasthya
दत्त्वातिथिभ्यो देवेभ्य: पितृभ्य: स्वजनाय च । अवशिष्टानि ये<श्रन्ति तानाहुर्विघसाशिन:
dattvātithibhyo devebhyaḥ pitṛbhyaḥ svajanāya ca | avaśiṣṭāni yeśnanti tān āhur vighasāśinaḥ ||
Après avoir donné à manger aux hôtes, aux dieux, aux ancêtres et aux siens, ceux qui ne mangent que ce qui reste sont appelés « vighasāśins ». Le vers loue une éthique domestique disciplinée : honorer d’abord les devoirs envers le divin et les ancêtres, pratiquer l’hospitalité et prendre soin de la famille avant tout, afin que sa propre part ne soit prise qu’en dernier, sans égoïsme.
