धृतराष्ट्रविलापः — Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Lament and Inquiry (Śalya-parva, Adhyāya 2)

अनेत्रत्वाद्‌ यदेतेषां न मे रूपनिदर्शनम्‌ । पुत्रस्नेहकृता प्रीतिर्नित्यमेतेषु धारिता

anetritvād yad eteṣāṃ na me rūpa-nidarśanam | putra-sneha-kṛtā prītir nityam eteṣu dhāritā ||

Dhṛtarāṣṭra dit : «Parce que je suis aveugle, je n’ai jamais eu la vision de leurs traits. Pourtant, mû par l’affection d’un père, j’ai toujours porté pour eux un amour constant.»
