आशीविषान्‌ नेत्रविषान्‌ कोपयेन्न च पण्डित: । एवं ते5हं वदामीदं प्रयतः कुरुनन्दन

Transliteration

Āśīviṣān netraviṣān kopayen na ca paṇḍitaḥ | evaṁ te 'haṁ vadāmīdaṁ prayataḥ kurunandana ||

Translation

Vidura avertit le prince : «Le sage ne doit pas irriter les serpents meurtriers, ceux qui répandent le venin par les crocs et même par les yeux. Ainsi, ô rejeton des Kuru, je te le dis avec une intention recueillie : ne trouble pas ceux qui, dans la colère, deviennent bien plus dangereux ; une telle provocation appelle la ruine.»
