vaiśampāyana uvāca | evaṃ nirjitya pṛthivīṃ bhrātaraḥ kurunandana | vartamānāḥ svadharmeṇa śaśāsuḥ pṛthivīm imām ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : « Ô joie des Kuru ! Ainsi, après avoir conquis la terre, les frères — agissant selon leur propre dharma — se mirent à gouverner ce monde même. »
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Legitimate rule is grounded in svadharma: power gained (even by conquest) must be exercised through righteous conduct, restraint, and duty-based governance rather than personal whim.
