Jarāsandha–Bhīma Niyuddha-prastāvaḥ
Commencement of the Regulated Duel
तान् पाद्यमधुपकाह्िन् गवार्हान् सत्कृतिं गतान् | प्रत्युत्थाय जरासंध उपतस्थे यथाविधि,वे पाद्य, मधुपर्क और गोदान पानेके योग्य थे। उनका सर्वत्र सत्कार होता था। उन्हें आया देख जरासंध उठकर खड़ा हो गया और उसने विधिपूर्वक उनका आतिथ्य-सत्कार किया
tān pādyamadhupakārhān gavārhān satkṛtiṃ gatān | pratyutthāya jarāsaṃdha upatasthe yathāvidhi ||
Ils étaient dignes des honneurs traditionnels de l’hospitalité—l’eau pour laver les pieds, l’offrande du madhuparka et le don d’une vache—et partout on les recevait avec respect. Les voyant arriver, Jarāsandha se leva pour les accueillir et, selon le rite, leur rendit les devoirs d’hôte.
