Jarā’s Account and the Enthronement of Jarāsandha (जरासंधोत्पत्तिः अभिषेकश्च)
अनवद्या हसम्बुद्धा: प्रविष्टा: शत्रुसझ तत् । शत्रुदेहमुपाक्रम्य त॑ काम॑ प्राप्तुयामहे
anavadyāḥ saṁbuddhāḥ praviṣṭāḥ śatrusaṅghaṁ tat | śatrudeham upākramya taṁ kāmaṁ prāptuyāmahe ||
Vāyu dit : «Si, pleinement vigilants et irréprochables dans notre intention, nous pénétrons furtivement dans cette armée ennemie, il n’y aura là rien à nous reprocher. Puis, en frappant l’ennemi en sa propre personne, nous accomplirons le dessein que nous poursuivons.»
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse frames a moral argument about strategy: stealthy entry is claimed to be ethically blameless if the intent is justified and the actors remain vigilant, aiming to accomplish a necessary objective against an enemy.
Vāyu proposes a tactical approach: to infiltrate the enemy’s side without open confrontation, and then directly strike the enemy’s person to secure the intended goal.
