अध्याय ९ — कर्णस्य प्रहारः, योधयुग्मनियोजनम्, शैनेय-कैकेययोर्युद्धविन्यासः
धिग्जीवितमिदं चैव सुहृद्धीनश्व॒ संजय । अद्य चाहं दशामेतां गत: संजय गर्हिताम्
dhig jīvitam idaṃ caiva suhṛd-hīnaśva sañjaya | adya cāhaṃ daśām etāṃ gataḥ sañjaya garhitām ||
Dhṛtarāṣṭra se lamente : «Honte à cette vie qui est la mienne, ô Sañjaya, privée d’amis véritables et de soutien ! Aujourd’hui je suis tombé dans cet état infâme, ô Sañjaya.»
