Dharma-rahasya Instruction: Vows, Truth, and Non-injury
स विसृष्टो बलवता बाणो वज्भाशनिस्वन: । अदारयदू रणे कर्ण वज़्वेगो यथाचलम्
sa visṛṣṭo balavatā bāṇo vajrabhāśani-svanaḥ | adārayad raṇe karṇa vajra-vego yathācalam ||
Sañjaya dit : Lancée avec une grande force, cette flèche—grondant comme la foudre—déchira Karṇa au cœur du combat, fonçant à la vitesse d’un vajra, comme si elle fendait une montagne.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the inexorable force of actions set in motion—especially in war—where power, intent, and momentum produce swift results. It also reminds the reader that even renowned heroes are subject to the same consequences when the machinery of battle is engaged.
Sañjaya narrates that a mighty arrow, released with great strength and roaring like a thunderbolt, strikes and rends Karṇa on the battlefield, likened to a vajra cleaving a mountain.
