Chapter 99: Sātyaki and Duḥśāsana’s engagement
यथा श्येनस्य पतन वनेष्वामिषगृद्धिन: । तथैवासीदभीसारस्तस्य द्रोणं जिघांसत:
yathā śyenasyā patanaṁ vaneṣv āmiṣa-gṛddhinaḥ | tathaivāsīd abhīsāras tasya droṇaṁ jighāṁsataḥ ||
Sañjaya dit : Comme un faucon fond dans la forêt, poussé par la faim de chair, telle fut sa charge—un élan impétueux né de l’intention de tuer Droṇa. L’image souligne qu’au feu de la guerre, le dessein peut se durcir en une fixité de prédateur, éclipsant retenue et délibération.
